The Illumination Event is seven carefully curated speakers with great ideas.
These speakers will share something they are passionate about, that lights them up.
At least one of them will light a spark in you.
We will also award the Breathe fore Life 2016 Scholarship.Chakras are like the different frequencies you tune to when you listen to the radio. Depending on where you put your attention in day to day activities- the chakra activates and amplifies your experiences. A thorough understanding of each chakra and its location and the parts of the body it relates to will enable you to identify habitual areas of stress and tension. Understanding the nature of the subtle body with its koshas, shariras and nadi’s and the role of the chakras through a physical lens brings greater fluidity and strength to your daily practice. working with the Bijas mantras will assist us on our journey. We will work with the energy and the water in the body to reboot the OM is the magic eraser.

“I am larger and better than I thought. I did not know I held so much goodness.” - Walt Whitman
Loving Kindness can be practiced anywhere, anytime.
You can practice in traffic jams, in buses and on airplanes.
However, any authentic expression of compassion starts with extending loving kindness to one ’s self first.
This practice will calm your mind, help you connect to your heart and provide you with an avenue to offer loving kindness on to others.
Tracy will guide you through a class to feel the power of loving kindness within yourself, using Mantra while moving through a physical practice.
Through movement and activities carried out within the safe, open, accountable space created by working with a trusted partner, participants will confidently examine how our fears and inhibitions both impede and illuminate the things from which we derive the most meaning in our lives. The workshop will open with a series of opening and trust-building exercises including an introduction to acroyoga led by Katie Thacker and Brandon Sherbrook. From that space of connection we’ll delve in the heart of our exploration, working to identify our fears, the meaning-making pursuits they cloud, and how to work through towards towards greater clarity and self-actualization.

Learning only static postures does not reveal the incredible potential of asana. When individual asanas are linked together correctly in a sequence, the result is a physiological mantram, a fleshy vortex of intersecting rivers of everything. The word vinyasa means “a joining or linking mechanism.” Krama means “the process”; it refers to the succession of changes that occurs from moment to moment. Vinyasa krama means the succession of changes undertaken with a single pointed intention, free from fluctuation.
We will practise vinyasas embodying the qualities of Earth, Water and Fire, energetically exploring grounding (stability), yielding (fluidity) and focus (presence). We will work up to side angles and twisting postures, with modifications for safe practice. We will explore the subtler elements of Air and Ether, with mindful breathing and powerful flow vinyasas. We will work up to balancing postures on hands and feet, culminating in longer held inversions, and finish with guided relaxation and contemplation.
This workshop will start with a strong and grounding sun salutation A and B, and standing sequence before we move into the seating sequence. Here we will spend time developing a light and flowing practice, working with the breath and the bandhas, we will explore the ‘jump back’ and the ‘jump through’. This is an essential part of the practice and we will look at various options of how to improve your jump back and jump through. We will finish the class with the relaxing finishing sequence.
Variations will be given throughout the whole workshop to suit all levels, giving you help and encouragement if you just started out and challenging you if you have been practicing for longer. You will be given different techniques, depending on your level, to use in your daily practice to continue working on your jump back and jump through after the workshop.
